indicates a company that is not currently fur-free but is phasing in a fur-free policy.
indicates a company that has committed in writing to be fur-free through the international"Consumers for a Fur Free Society" program. We encourage companies on our list to take the next step and put their commitment in writing through this program, and proudly display the fur-free fox logo on their door.
The HSUS is committed to providing the most up-to-date and accurate list to our 10 million members and supporters in the United States. However, retailers and designers can change their policies at any time, and sometimes errors in the complex global manufacturing process can result in mistakes. In addition, some retailers listed may still sell fur as they phase it out over one or more seasons. Furthermore, some fur garments bearing the name of listed brands or designers who have recently gone fur-free may continue to be available in discount and overstock stores and on online auction sites.
Brands affected by a parent company are given a separate entry if brick-and-mortar or online stores operate under that brand name. For example, Banana Republic, a brand of The Gap, Inc., has stores under that name and is given its own entry on the list, whereas Black Label, a Polo Ralph Lauren brand with no stores under that name, is not given its own entry.
